This Jerk Chicken Recipe kit will take you a journey that begins back in 1698 when a French priest first recorded this style of spicing and slow grilling to keep food for yummy for long periods of time. It will guide you through preparing the marinade - which is also an amazing hot dipping sauce - tell you when to pop open your Red Stripe (if you are being authentic) and even teach you how to talk like a Jamaican. Of course the kit includes preparation instructions as well as a take and go shopping list for fresh ingredients. Just to make sure there are no worries, this kit even includes gloves for when you chop up those hot, Hot, HOT scotch Bonnets and some wood chips with allspice berries to give your Jamaican jerk chicken, shrimp and veggies an authentic smokey flavor.
As with every Kit you also receive our fun and informative trivia to enjoy with your dinner guest. A great way to inspire discussion and learning for both adults and children.
Going Camping? This is a great kit to bring on the trip. Just pop it in the marinade and off you go!
Serves 8+ adults (customers have served up to 15 from one kit!!)
Cooking Jerk Chicken for just a few is easy. Make the recipe in full however reserve 3/4 of the marinade in a sealed non-reactive container which you can pop right into the fridge. You can use the marinade as hot sauce or as marinade. If you want to save it for longer than two weeks, we recommend you toss some fresh chicken into the marinade then pop that into the freezer. Just defrost in the fridge and you are ready to go.
Pre-measured ingredients included in the kit: ground thyme, salt, sugar, allspice, cinnamon, ground cloves, ginger, ground black pepper, nutmeg, vinegar, soy sauce, dried jerk rub.
Fresh ingredients you will need: chicken, shrimp, garlic, scotch or habanero peppers, orange juice, a lime, and olive oil. (Don't forget the Red Stripe while you are at the store.)

This unique dinner combines easily obtainable fresh ingredients with terrific spices and clear directions. Even the least experienced cook can manage a party dinner with this Jamaican dish. Brings the memories of the Carribean home.

I bought the 3-month Passport as a gift for my chef-husband. I thought it would be so much fun making authentic cultural recipes together, plus "food" is just his thing. We received our first month, Jamaican Jerk Chicken, in the mail over the weekend and cooked it off last night. Man, it was delicious! Wonderful flavor, and just the right amount of spice.
We made this recipe for 2 people so there is plenty of marinade left over. We only did chicken last night, and we will have the shrimp with dry rub later in the week. Can't wait!
A lot of fun with this ... after the 3 months runs out, we may have to extend it further.

I bought this as a Mother's Day Gift and she absolutely loved it. She had surgery just before so she was staying in and getting bored of the same old food. She loves to cook and this is a dish she always goes crazy for. Now she can make it herself anytime and have a good meal as she recovers.
