Are there recommended substitutes? Recipe kits recommend ingredients that are authentic for the dish. This, however, does not mean that you cannot make substitutions. Dishes that call for chicken can often substitute pork, fish or even tofu. Those recipe kits that call for the addition of vegetables can even forego the meat if you simply add more of the veggies. The Kyoto Recipe Kit is the only kit I would strongly recommend you stick to fish - but which type fish is completely up to you! Are there any vegetarian recipe kits? Yes. The Haifa Recipe Kit for Falafel is vegetarian. In fact it is vegan. Additionally, the Jeju, Bangkok, Dhaka, New Orleans and Pattaya kits can all be made with no meat or shrimp. Are the Recipe Kits Kosher? Officially, the kits are not kosher and thus do not display the 'K'. Unofficially the Seoul, Kyoto, Dhaka, Beirut, Haifa, Jeju, Jamaica and Bangkok kits contain no non-kosher ingredients; however they are not assembled in a Kosher facility. Unfortunately any traditional Thai curry contains shrimp paste, which is a big kosher "no no". Based on demand, Kosher Kits may be coming soon. Are there any gluten free kits? We are working with an expert in the field to confirm which of our kits we can list as gluten free. Based on our initial review the following kits may fall into this listing: Dhaka, Bangkok, Pad Thai, New Orleans, Yucatan, and Ayutthaya. Based on demand, we are looking into offering gluten free versions of the Seoul, Jeju and Jamaica kits as well. Is the MSG in any of the Recipe Kits? The only MSG in any of the kits is in the Miso soup packs included in the Tokyo Recipe Kit. The chicken soup packets for the New Orleans Recipe Kits do not contain MSG. We are happy to provide full details of ingredients for these items. How can I recommend a destination for consideration? We are always looking for a new Destination so your recommendations are very welcome! To do this, send us an email to info(at)destinationdinners(dot)com. Be sure to include the country, city and favorite food from that location if you have one. I have a great family recipe I think would make a fantastic Destination Dinners Recipe Kit. Both services include tracking however FedEx tracking is much more specific. How soon can I expect to receive my shipment? Generally orders received by 2pm on a weekday will ship out that same day. Orders placed on Saturday with shipping via USPS will ship on Saturday if the order is received before 11am. If there is a backorder or delay of more than 48 hours, we will notify you via email. Sometimes there are typos in addresses or the system can not validate shipping addresses, in those cases we will hold your order until we can contact you via email or phone in order to confirm the address. Please contact us at sales(at)destinationdinners(dot)com for detailed instructions for returning an item. Since these are food items, we unfortunately cannot accept any items for return that have been opened. What should I do if my item arrives broken? Will I still be able to make a Destination Dinner? You will have no problem! How do we know?
