If you'd love to experience New Orleans, starting with the food, this Kit is for you. Your journey begins with an introduction to the cooking 'Holy Trinity' (also known as celery, onions and bell peppers); you will learn about the many cultures including French, German, Spanish, African and even American Indian that influence this dish; and why our version is a Creole style Jambalaya verses a Canjun. This dish is great for a casual gathering and can even be made in a traditional fashion over a campfire if you have a sturdy cast iron pot. The kit contains everything you need including premeasured spices, preparation instructions, a take and go shopping list for fresh ingredients and ideas for accompanying dishes and drinks. We even tucked in some tips and techniques for chopping all of the veggies and meats.
As with every Kit you also receive our fun and informative trivia to enjoy with your dinner guest. A great way to inspire discussion and learning both with adults and children. Might even make you an expert on Creole vs. Cajun.
