Initially afraid of the kitchen and loath to touch knives or use heat for fear of injury, Lisa lived her first 30 years of life letting others cook for her. In 1997, upon returning to the US from ten years living and traveling abroad, Lisa realized that the only way to find authentic flavors from her experiences was to make them herself. With the encouragement of her husband, who was willing to try anything, Lisa began collecting and cooking family recipes from friends abroad.
Each time she made a new meal, she wished there was a way to capture that flavor, along with the culture, in a box so that others could easily reproduce it in their own homes and perhaps learn just a little bit about the people and the country the food comes from.
Destination Dinners is just that, a kit that presents authentic flavor coupled with history, culture and etiquette for each destination. Custom kits with business culture information and trivia are also available.
