Ansers to Your Questions

The recipe calls for chicken. Are there recommended substitutes?

Recipe kits recommend ingredients that are authentic for the dish. This, however, does not mean that you cannot make substitutions. Dishes that call for chicken can often substitute pork or even fish. Those recipe kits that call for the addition of vegetables can even forego the meat if you simply add more of the veggies. The Kyoto Recipe Kit is the only kit I would strongly recommend you stick to fish - but which fish is completely up to you!

Are there any vegetarian recipe kits?

Yes. The Haifa Recipe Kit for Falafel is vegetarian. In fact it is vegan. Additionally, the Bangkok, Dhaka and Ayutthaya kits can all be made with no meat.

Are the Recipe Kits Kosher?

Officially, the kits are not kosher and thus do not display the 'K'. Unofficially the Seoul, Kyoto, Dhaka, Beirut, Haifa and Bangkok kits contain no non-kosher ingredients, however they are not assembled in a Kosher facility. Unfortunately any traditional Thai curry contains shrimp paste, which is a big kosher "no no". Based on demand, Kosher Kits may be coming soon.

How can I recommend a destination for consideration?

We are always looking for a new Destination so your recommendations are very welcome! To do this, send us an email to destinations(at)destinationdinners(dot)com. Be sure to include the country, city and favorite food from that location if you have one.

I have a great family recipe I think would make a fantastic Destination Dinners Recipe Kit. Can I submit it for review?

Absolutely! We love family recipes especially if they come with the cultural background. Send us an email at recipes(at)destinationdinners(dot)com and we will send you the guidelines and benefits for submitting recipes.

I would like to contribute some trivia and cultural information for a specific destination. How can I do this?

We welcome cultural information! The more we can share through our kits, the happier we are. Send the info to us at destinations(at)destinationdinners(dot)com.

How does Destination Dinners ship the recipe kits?

All kits are shipped via Priority Mail within the USA. Delivery usually takes between 2-3 days. Believe it or not, it is the cheapest as well as fastest method.

How soon can I expect to receive my shipment?

It generally will take 3 - 5 days to process the order and another 2 - 3 days for the shipping. If there is a backorder or delay, we will notify you via email.

What is the return policy?

Items can be returned within 30 days of purchase for an exchange or merchandise credit. Please contact us at sales(at)destinationdinners(dot)com for detailed instructions for returning an item.

Is there tax on Destination Dinners Recipe Kits?

No. Kits are food products and therefore sales tax is not applicable. The cooking tools however, incur a California State Sales Tax of 8.5% when delivery is taken in California.

Do the kits need to be refrigerated?

Destination Dinners Recipe Kits do not need to be refrigerated, however they should be stored in a cool dry place. The Kyoto kit, which contains White Miso need to remain below 90 degrees. As a result Destination Dinners may refuse to ship the kit to hot locations during the summer months without pre approval from you.

How long do I have to enjoy the kit?

We recommend that you enjoy your kit within 90 days of receipt. If stored correctly, the ingredients in the kits will last up to two years, although the flavor will fade over time.

I have food allergies. How can I be sure that the sauces and condiments have none of the things I am allergic to?

For detailed information about the ingredients contact us at sales(at)destinationdinners(dot)com.

I loved the sauces! Can I buy a full-size bottle of the products?

We are so glad you love them! Unfortunately, at this time we are not selling the ingredients in full size containers.

I have travel photos from some of the destinations. Is there a way for me to share them on the Destination Dinners web site?

Please do! If your photo is chosen for use in our materials, you will receive a free Recipe Kit. Please send only JPEG images. In the future, we hope to create a photo gallery of the destinations. Send the photos to destinations(at)destinationdinners(dot)com. Be sure to include the destination name, your name and when you took the photo.

I am not a very experienced cook. Will I still be able to make a Destination Dinner?

You will have no problem! How do we know? Cause Lisa isn't a very good cook either and she can make these kits with delicious results every time.
